If you're a fan of spicy condiments, and have never tried a chili crunch oil, you are truly missing out.
It's a spicy condiment that originated in China with the Lao Gan Ma brand, and can be found at the table in most Chinese restaurants.
Now it has found mass appeal all over the globe, and can be used in various cuisines. Our favorite ways to use it? We love adding it to stir frys, toasts, eggs, and even pasta sauces!
As much as we do love the grocery store bought versions, we are big fans of making our own and using natural ingredients! Plus, the addition of our Black Pepper Garlic Infused Olive Oil is truly a game changer!
Although a lot of homemade chili crisp oil is made with sesame oil, we opt for olive oil because it has more nutritional value than the alternative.
Now, a warning: THIS IS VERY SPICY. We may as well call it an extra spicy chili crunch! Make sure you try a small amount the first time you taste it. So use either in moderation, or feel free to use less red pepper and peppercorns and opt for more black pepper.
Combine the olive oils in a pan over medium heat.
Add the crushed red chili peppers and Sichuan peppercorns to the hot oil. Stir continuously to infuse the oil with the flavors of the spices.
Once the spices are fragrant and the oil has turned reddish, add the minced garlic. Continue to stir and cook until the garlic becomes golden brown.
Add soy sauce, sugar, and salt to the mixture. Stir well to combine the ingredients.
Allow the chili oil to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, ensuring that all the flavors meld together.
Remove the pan from heat and let the chili oil cool to room temperature.
Transfer the chili oil to a clean, airtight jar for storage.
Use this delicious spicy-crunchy chili oil with olive oil to enhance the flavor of various dishes, such as noodles, rice, stir-fries, or even as a dipping sauce. Adjust the spice level according to your preference.
Here are some of our favorite dishes that could use this chili crunch oil:
These are truly the best chili crisps, filled with crunchy garlic, and tons of heat! A little bit of this chile oil is always a good idea in our book.

As far as healthy salads go, Caesars are often far from guilt-free. But there are healthier options out there! Forgoing the store-bought caesar dressings and croutons and making your own at home is the best way to guarantee you are getting quality ingredients and avoiding harmful additives.
Did you even realize you can skip the mayo and opt for an extra virgin olive oil and lemon balsamic vinegar instead? That's right - your Texas Hill Country Olive Co. products are an easy way to make a healthy and delicious light caesar dressing!
So let's explore how making your own dressings and croutons is the healthier alternative!
Making your own Caesar dressing at home is a healthier choice as it allows you to control the quality of ingredients, avoiding artificial additives, excessive sodium, unhealthy fats, and hidden sugars commonly found in store-bought dressings.
With the ability to choose fresh and nutritious components, control salt levels, and opt for heart-healthy oils, homemade healthy caesar dressing offers a fresher, more vibrant flavor while enabling customization based on dietary preferences.
Making your own croutons at home brings several health benefits compared to store-bought alternatives.
Firstly, homemade croutons allow you to control the quality of ingredients, ensuring the use of whole-grain or artisanal bread that provides essential nutrients and fiber. Store-bought croutons often contain refined white bread, contributing to a less nutritious profile.
Additionally, crafting your croutons allows you to manage the amount of added salt and unhealthy fats, promoting a heart-conscious choice. By toasting bread cubes with olive oil and herbs in your own kitchen, you eliminate the need for preservatives and artificial additives commonly found in commercial croutons.
So let's learn how to make this popular dish with simple ingredients that are better for you than the grocery store alternatives!
Indulging in your homemade classic Caesar salad, featuring a nutritious dressing and wholesome ingredients, is not only a delicious culinary journey but also a mindful choice for your overall health.
By opting for this healthier version, you're not only reducing grams of fat and potential risks related to heart disease often associated with traditional Caesar dressings but also embracing the goodness of healthy fats. This homemade creation allows you to control fat content, especially when compared to store-bought alternatives.
The great thing about crafting your own dressing is the positive impact it can have on high blood pressure concerns, offering a heart-conscious alternative to grocery store options. The good news is, you can still enjoy one of your favorite salads, savoring every bite guilt-free, knowing you've made a tasteful and health-conscious choice for your well-being.

Fill the Crust: Pour the cranberry curd filling into the prepared crust in an even layer.
Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the filling is set.

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish (approximately 9x13 inches) with a little olive oil.
Prepare the Bread: Place the cubed bread (old bread is better!) in the greased baking dish, ensuring they are evenly distributed.
Prepare the Custard: In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, granulated sugar, olive oil, fig balsamic vinegar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
Combine with Bread: Pour the fig balsamic vinegar custard mixture evenly over the bread cubes. Gently press down on the bread to ensure it absorbs the custard.
Add Dried Figs: Sprinkle the chopped dried figs over the top of the bread mixture, distributing them evenly.
Optional Almond Topping: If you're using sliced almonds, sprinkle them over the top for added texture and flavor.
Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the custard is set.
Prepare the Rum Sauce: In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add brown sugar to the melted butter and stir until dissolved. Pour in the rum and let it simmer for a couple of minutes. Add the heavy cream and a pinch of salt, stirring until the sauce thickens slightly.
Serve: Remove the bread pudding from the oven. Serve warm rather than room temperature, drizzling the decadent spiced rum sauce over individual portions just before serving.
Store: If bringing later to a party, reserve warm sauce for later in an airtight container. Cover casserole dish or baking dish with plastic wrap and store in fridge until needed. Warm up at the party, and top with warm rum sauce at event, rather than combining at home.

]]>This zucchini linguine recipe is about to change your life! Not to be mistaken for a linguini made out of zucchini noodles, this dish is made with a combination of delicious linguini noodles, zucchini strips, shrimp, and a whole lot of garlic!
But no garlic powder here! Not only do we use fresh cloves in this recipe, but we add our Sicilian Infused Olive Oil. Sure, we love extra-virgin olive oil in pasta as much as the next person, but this garlic and herb-infused oil is the perfect addition to pack even more flavor into your pasta!
Besides being absolutely delicious, this linguini dish is incredibly easy to make. So get to cooking and bon appetite!
Prepare the Zucchini Linguini: Using a spiralizer or a vegetable peeler, cut the zucchini into thin, long strips resembling linguini noodles. Set the zucchini linguini aside.
Cook the Linguini: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the linguini pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta and set it aside.
Sauté the Shrimp: In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of Sicilian Olive Oil over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and are cooked through. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set them aside.
Prepare the Creamy Garlic Sauce: In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of sicilian infused olive oil. Add the minced garlic and sauté on medium heat for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Add Cream and Broth: Pour in the heavy cream and chicken or vegetable broth. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally.
Thicken the Sauce: Gradually stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly. Stir in the fresh lemon juice for a bright and zesty flavor. Season with salt and pepper to taste. If desired, add red pepper flakes for a bit of heat.
Combine the Ingredients: Add the cooked zucchini linguini and sautéed shrimp to the creamy garlic sauce in the skillet. Gently toss everything together until the zucchini and shrimp are evenly coated with the sauce.
Serve: Transfer pasta to large bowl or individual bowls/plates to serve. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley for a burst of freshness and a pop of color.
Optional additions: You can add halved cherry tomatoes or sautéed mushrooms to this dish for some extra flavor and texture.
We hope you love your new favorite pasta dish! Next time you're thinking about making boring pasta, opt for this recipe instead! It's not only delicious but oh so easy to make.

Ice cream sandwiches are a delicious treat on a hot day, and they are so easy to make! This sweet treat is as simple as baking your favorite cookies, and putting some ice cream in between. Boom! Easy as pie.
And by making them at home, you're avoiding all of that yucky high fructose corn syrup and other preservatives that are often added to pre-packaged ice cream sandwiches. It's all natural flavors here, y'all!
But the trick for making the perfect ice cream sandwich is your cookie recipe! And these Butter Pecan Cookies are beyond wonderful! Our Sola Stella Extra Virgin Olive Oil adds the most delicious flavor, and helps make these the most buttery cookies imaginable. PLUS, the addition of EVOO to your baking adds a healthy touch to an often unhealthy recipe. Counteract all that sugar with some essential antioxidants.
Now add some crunchy pecans and dark brown sugar, and you've got yourself the chewy cookies of your dreams!

We opted for some Blue Bell creamy butter pecan ice cream, but vanilla is also a great choice! Have an ice cream maker? Take this up a notch and feel free to make your own ice cream!
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the all purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and extra virgin olive oil until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined (electric mixer optional on low speed).
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Fold in the chopped pecans.
Drop rounded tablespoons of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Flatten each dough ball slightly with the back of a spoon or your fingertips.
Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown around the edges. Remove from the oven and let them cool completely on a wire rack.
While the cookies are cooling, soften the vanilla ice cream by letting it sit at room temperature for a few minutes.
Once the cookies have cooled, take a scoop of the softened ice cream and place an even layer on the flat side of one cookie. Top it with another cookie, flat side down, to create a sandwich. Repeat with the remaining cookies and ice cream.
If desired, you can roll the edges of the ice cream sandwiches in additional chopped pecans, or even chocolate chips, for added crunch and flavor.
Place the assembled ice cream sandwiches on a baking sheet or tray lined with parchment paper and freeze for at least 1-2 hours, or until the ice cream is firm.
Once the ice cream sandwiches are frozen, they are ready to be enjoyed! Serve them immediately or store them in an airtight container or with plastic wrap in the freezer for later.

This vinaigrette is made with Persian Lime Balsamic Vinegar and Ascolano Extra Virgin Olive Oil to create the most delicious citrus addition to this sweet and spicy salad.
]]>Nothing says refreshing like watermelon! And a watermelon salad is the perfect way to cool down during the Summer heat.
We like our watermelon salad with some Tajin to add some delicious contrasting flavors, plus some cotija cheese and mint for some extra depth.
For those that don't know, tajin is a salty Mexican seasoning blend made with chili powder, dehydrated lime juice, and salt. It's delicious to use on so many dishes, but especially when paired with the juiciness of fresh watermelon! From a watermelon margarita to watermelon skewers, it's truly the best seasoning when you want a little Mexican flavoring that is both spicy and zesty.
And you can't forget the dressing! This vinaigrette is made with Persian Lime Balsamic Vinegar and Ascolano Extra Virgin Olive Oil to create the most delicious citrus addition to this sweet and spicy salad.
We love a salad filled with fresh fruit, and that wonderful watermelon taste is tough to beat on a hot day! So time to make this delicious summer treat to get you through the dog days of summer!
Instructions:
Prepare the watermelon: Start by cutting the watermelon in half and scooping out the seeds (if any). Then, cut the watermelon into manageable slices and remove the rind. Finally, chop the watermelon into bite-sized cubes. Place the cubes in a large mixing bowl and chill them in the refrigerator until ready to assemble the salad.
Make the lime balsamic dressing: In a separate small bowl, whisk together the extra-virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, lime juice, and honey (if using). Add 1/2 teaspoon of Tajin seasoning, or adjust the amount according to your taste preference. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Set the dressing aside.
Assemble the salad: Take the chilled watermelon cubes from the refrigerator and gently toss them with the chopped fresh mint leaves. Sprinkle the crumbled Cotija cheese on top of the watermelon and mint mixture.
Add Tajin seasoning: Generously sprinkle Tajin seasoning over the watermelon and Cotija cheese. The combination of the sweet watermelon with the savory, tangy, and slightly spicy Tajin will create a delightful flavor profile.
Drizzle the lime balsamic dressing: Just before serving, give the lime balsamic dressing a final stir and drizzle it over the watermelon salad. Start with a small amount and add more dressing if needed, ensuring not to overwhelm the flavors of the watermelon and Tajin.
Toss gently: Carefully toss the salad to ensure the dressing coats all the ingredients evenly. Be gentle to avoid crushing the watermelon cubes.
Serve: Transfer the watermelon salad to a serving platter or individual bowls. Garnish with a few additional fresh mint leaves and a sprinkle of Tajin seasoning on top, if desired. Or store in an airtight container for later.
This tajin watermelon salad is the answer to a scorching day. It can be served for lunch, an easy appetizer, or as a delicious snack at your next summer party - there are truly so many good opportunities to eat your new favorite salad.
The citrus flavor and balance of the dressing can't be created without the perfect blend of Persian Lime Balsamic and Ascolano EVOO! But besides this dressing, you can use these products in so many other ways. Try them in sweeter foods, like cakes with balsamic frosting, or in tex-mex foods like guacamole. There are so many ways to get creative in the kitchen.

It's the perfect treat that celebrates the bounty of fresh summer fruit. This easy dessert combines the sweetness of ripe peaches with the burst of juicy blueberries, making it one of the best ways to enjoy the flavors of the season.
We've added a unique twist to this classic fruit dessert with the inclusion of our Peach Balsamic Vinegar in the fruit mixture, and our Sola Stella Extra Virgin Olive Oil in the batter, creating a mouthwatering combination that will surely become one of your favorite summer desserts.
So let's gather our ingredients and get ready to savor the taste of sunshine in every bite!
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x9 inch (or similar-sized) baking dish with melted butter or cooking spray.
Remove peach skin and pits.
In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches and blueberries. Add the peach balsamic vinegar, granulated sugar, all-purpose flour, vanilla extract, lemon zest, and a pinch of salt. Gently toss the fruit mixture until the fresh fruit is evenly coated. Transfer the filling into the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.
In a separate medium bowl, prepare the cobbler topping dry ingredients. Combine flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the cold butter pieces using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Drizzle the extra virgin olive oil over the dry flour mixture and stir gently to combine. Add the milk and mix until you have a soft, slightly sticky dough.
Drop spoonfuls of the cobbler topping evenly over the fruit filling. You don't need to cover the entire surface; leaving some gaps will allow the fruit to peek through.
Place the cobbler in the preheated oven and bake for about 35 to 40 minutes or until the topping turns golden brown and the fruit filling starts to bubble around the edges.
Once the cobbler is done baking, remove it from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Serve the Blueberry Peach Cobbler either warm or room temperature, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream, if desired.
Save leftovers in an airtight container and store in the fridge.
As you take your first bite of this peach blueberry cobbler, you'll undoubtedly agree that it's one of the most satisfying ways to enjoy the abundance of fresh summer fruit.

Add the wet ingredients, eggs, milk, olive oil, and vanilla extract, to the dry ingredients. Beat on medium speed with an electric mixer for about 2 minutes until well combined.

]]>We love 4th of July desserts - it's probably our favorite part of the holiday. But these aren't the Fourth of July cookies you're used to!
Sure, we love firework cookies as much as the next person, but we wanted to create a cookie for Independence day that isn't covered in red, white, and blue m&ms, frosting, and sprinkles. Those cookies are delicious, but they leave us with a major sugar crash, and food coloring dyed mouths to boot.
Looking for patriotic cookies for your adult-only parties? Want an easy cookie recipe? We've got you covered! These healthier cookies are still red, white, and blue - but in the form of dried cranberries, dried blueberries, and white chocolate chips (plus some pecans for a little crunch).
We've even gone one step further in the health department to make these cookies using Extra Virgin Olive Oil instead of butter! Our Sola Stella EVOO is the perfect replacement for butter, as it's delicate, light, and even has buttery notes.
So no need to feel guilty for eating cookies this Fourth of July - just make a batch of these festive 4th of July cookies:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and set it aside.
In a large bowl, whisk together the olive oil and granulated sugar until well combined.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Use a hand mixer or stand mixer on medium speed if you prefer.
Gently fold in the dried blueberries, dried cranberries, white chocolate chips, and chopped nuts until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Scoop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough and place them onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
If desired, flatten each cookie slightly with the back of a spoon or rolling pin. This will help create a more even shape.
Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the cookies cool for a few minutes on the sheet before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Either serve at room temperature, store in an airtight container or wrap in plastic wrap to bring to your Fourth of July party!
These cookies are our new favorite to bring to any Fourth of July celebration! Even if they're not blue cookies or made with a star cookie cutter, they capture the red, white, and blue theme, without leaving you feeling sluggish after.
They're delicious paired with some ice cream in a sundae with a little drizzle of our award-winning Blood Orange Infused Olive Oil (like in the mouthwatering picture above).

]]>Although we hate to pit cheeses against each other, we have to say that a log of nice creamy goat cheese is one of our favorite delicacies. From goat cheese slices to goat cheese spreads - we love them all!
But what's one goat cheese recipe that tops our list? Crispy fried goat cheese balls. But we've decided to slightly adjust the recipe to the traditional goat cheese balls you're used to, to make it better suited to our favorite summer salad.
Don't get us wrong, we love classic goat cheese appetizers like goat cheese balls with a nice balsamic drizzle. But we've found that the goat cheese rounds shape is perfect to top our salads because it won't roll away and is easier to cut. It's also so easy to make! Just a few simple ingredients, and you've got the most delicious fried goat cheese in no time.
AND we've even found a way to make this recipe slightly healthier! We opted for our delicate Sola Stella Extra Virgin Olive Oil to fry our heavenly goat cheese discs for our salad. It's so much healthier than your typical vegetable oil, and it will make you feel a little less guilty about eating fried cheese. Plus, our Sola Stella has a high smoke point of 410 degrees Fahrenheit, so it's perfect for healthier frying!
Why not try adding some savory goat cheese bites to your summer salad? Top it off with fresh arugula, prosciutto, blackberries, and walnuts, and drizzle our delectable Blackberry Vinaigrette for a flavorful and impressive dish that will surely impress your guests.
Fried Goat Cheese:
Blackberry Vinaigrette:
Salad Toppings:
Put the goat cheese log in the freezer while you make your dressing (around 15 minutes)
Combine all ingredients for Blackberry Vinaigrette in a blender, and blend until smooth.
Take the goat cheese out of the freezer and slice the goat cheese log into discs that are about 1/2 inch thick.
Set up a breading station. In one shallow bowl, place the flour. In another small bowl, place the beaten egg. Finally, in a third bowl, spread out the panko bread crumbs.
Take one goat cheese disc and coat it lightly in the flour, shaking off any excess. Then dip it into the egg wash, making sure to coat it completely.
Transfer the coated goat cheese disc to the panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere the breadcrumbs to the cheese. Ensure that the disc is evenly coated with the breadcrumbs. Repeat this process with the remaining goat cheese discs.
Heat a frying pan or skillet over high to medium heat and add enough Sola Stella Extra Virgin Olive Oil to cover the bottom of the pan. Allow the oil to heat up for a few minutes until it shimmers.
Carefully place the coated goat cheese discs into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry them for about 30 seconds on each side or until they turn golden brown and crispy.
Once fried, use a slotted spoon or tongs to transfer the fried goat cheese to a plate lined with a paper towel. This will help absorb any excess oil.
Add other ingredients to the arugula salad base, top with fried goat cheese, and then drizzle your Blackberry Vinaigrette. Keep the remainder of the Blackberry Vinaigrette in an airtight container for future use.
We hope you love this summer salad with fried goat cheese and blackberry balsamic vinaigrette! Although we love this combination as is, the fried goat cheese can be used in so many other ways.
Serve your fried goat cheese with a drizzle of honey, some marinara sauce, or hot honey for the perfect party appetizer. It makes a great addition to any charcuterie board and is truly such an easy appetizer. You can even mix your goat cheese with other ingredients to create herb goat cheese or honey goat cheese before frying!
