Pineapple Ginger Sorbet

What's better than a frozen treat to cool you off during these sweltering Summer day? The answer is... nothing. But we like to take it up a notch by adding a tangy and sweet twist to a simple classic. Combining fresh pineapple, oranges, ginger and our Prickly Pear Balsamic Vinegar takes a simple sorbet and elevates it to a level you didn't see coming. Follow along with these simple steps to make the delicious sweet treat.
Pineapple Ginger Sorbet with Prickly Pear Balsamic
- Prep Time: 15 minutes
- Servings: 4-6
Ingredients:
- 16 oz frozen pineapples
- 2 medium oranges or 1/2 cup orange juice
- 2 tsp ginger fresh ginger juice
- 2 TBSP Prickly Pear Balsamic Vinegar
Directions:
- Start by juicing the ginger- if you do not have a juicer, peel and dice ginger. Place diced ginger in cheesecloth and squeeze juice into a container and set aside. (you can also use store bought ginger juice + add more to taste if you prefer a stronger ginger flavor)
- In a food processor or blender add the frozen pineapples, orange juice, Prickly Pear Balsamic and fresh ginger juice. Blend until texture is creamy.
- Serve as is or place in an airtight container and place in the freezer for 1-2 hours for a harder texture.
- Optional- drizzle our pink Prickly Pear Balsamic simple syrup on top.
Pink Prickly Pear Balsamic Syrup Directions:
- In a small saucepan add ⅓ cup of Prickly Pear Balsamic.
- Heat slowly until the balsamic starts to thicken, approx 2 minutes.
- Remove from heat and add 1-2 drops of pink food coloring or ¼ tsp of beet root powder.
- Drizzle over sorbet and serve.
- Optional- add fresh pineapple chunks on top.
